Privacy Policy

Crude Oracle does not collect, sell, rent, or track personal data. The app has no accounts and no server operated by the developer: the developer receives no data from the app at all.

API keys

API keys are stored locally in the iOS Keychain on your device. They are not stored in UserDefaults, included in source code, or transmitted to Crude Oracle.

AI features and what is shared

AI features are optional and off by default. If you enable a third-party cloud AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, or OpenRouter), the app first shows an in-app disclosure and asks your permission. Only after you allow it, and only when you use an AI feature (daily briefing, quick take, scenarios, chart explanations, or news summaries), the app sends the following directly from your device to the one provider you selected, using your own API key:

Current market prices and computed statistics (volatility, positioning, futures-curve readings)
Recent public news headlines
On-chart statistics for the chart you ask about
If you entered them: your hypothetical what-if position (direction, entry price, size) and custom analysis subjects

Nothing else is sent — never your API keys, name, contacts, location, photos, or any device identifier. The selected provider processes these requests under its own terms and privacy policy; Crude Oracle never sees or stores your requests. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → AI Intelligence, which immediately disables all cloud AI requests. If you use Apple Intelligence instead, AI processing happens entirely on your device and nothing is sent to any third party.

Market data and news

When you use live market data or RSS news, the app requests public data directly from your device from services such as Yahoo Finance, CFTC public reporting, and RSS publishers. These are ordinary content downloads; no personal data accompanies them beyond what any network request technically includes (such as your IP address, visible to any server you connect to).

Local data

Cached prices, news, alerts, and predictions are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. You can clear local data from Settings.

No tracking

Crude Oracle does not use advertising identifiers, does not perform cross-app tracking, and does not share your data with data brokers.
